Just wanted to let you know that I forgot to send home the homework planned for today. This happens from time to time, but I know many of you will be looking for it since it was on this week's homework sheet. Don't worry about the missing assignment, we will just review what I had planned tomorrow during class.

Children's Book Week
Can you believe how fast this school year is flying by? Next week is the last week of school before our first big break-Thanksgiving! It is also one of my very favorite weeks of the whole year-Children's Book Week. Here is a list of some of the planned activities each day. I would LOVE to have 100% participation in our class.
Monday Nov. 14 “Hats off to Books”- Wear your favorite hat with your uniform
Tuesday Nov.15 “Head over Heels for Books” – Wear your uniform with crazy hair and crazy socks (Guest readers from a 5th grade class)
Wednesday, Nov. 16 “Curl Up With a Good Book” – Wear your favorite pajamas
Thursday Nov. 17 “All Tied Up With a Good Book” – Wear a tie with your uniform (Guest author visits school)
Friday Nov, 18 “Book characters visit JME” - Wear uniform, bring book character costume to change into after lunch for the Book Character Parade
Saturday Nov.19 Savannah Children’s Book Festival – Forsyth Park, Savannah
Let's make this week even more reading focused by taking an AR test every single day! We are already one of the top performing AR classes in the whole school, and this could give us a big lead. Our class average is now 87% and we have taken almost 500 tests this year! Every student in our class has at least 4 points, and many have already met their point goal for the nine weeks. Most importantly, all of my students enjoy reading and ask to read and take tests all day long. Please encourage your child to read and take a test each night of the week next week, and we will also be reading during the day in class to celebrate this important week.
Have a super weekend...and I can't wait for Monday!

McTeacher's Night
Don't forget that tonight is McTeacher's Night from 5-8 pm at the McDonald's on Hwy. 84. Unfortunately, I will not be there to work due to a last minute emergency, but I know that my students will enjoy seeing their other teachers, staff members, and our principals serving them french fries for a good cause! All proceeds will help fund field trips for students this year, so please come out and support us if you can. Have a great week!

Book Character Pumpkins
We finished our book character pumpkin! We were disappointed that another class was doing our favorite character Junie B. Jones, so we decided to pick another class favorite. I think it turned out great. We hope you will come by the Fall Festival and check out all of the creative book character pumpkins on display.
